some letters I have received from art buddies in 2012
"At the center of your being
you have the answer;
you know who you are and
you know what you want."
--- Lao Tzu

"In the end, only three things matter;
how much you loved, how
gently you lived, and how gracefully
you let go of things
not meant for you."

The hands know,
the materials too,
quite apart from your imaginings,
less or more than your intentions -
following the pattern that emerges,
the story as it tells.  -- Jane Whitely

You see, I want a lot.
Perhaps I want everything:
the darkness that comes with every infinite fall
and the shivering blaze of every step up.

There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening
That is translated through you into action,
And because there is only one of you in all time,
This expression is unique.

Stunning post Donna and this looks to be a very special workshop. Oh how I wish I could extend my stay in the Northwest one more week and attend. But I will at least look forward to a blog post about the experience.

OH....Habu! Thank you for the link....where I will surely be lost for hours....and for the beautiful inspiration. I will be headed to Whidbey in September for another event...can't wait! Surely your workshop there will be a spiritual retreat as well.

I see you collect beauty, curate your selection and present it to us as a type of spiritual offering. My life is richer for it.

Thank you Donna, for your exquisite taste and your clear vision.

As an alumni of your workshop, I can say it is art--creative-life altering. Fortunate are the artists who have the experience.

SOMEDAY I hope to take one of your workshops! :) I have a feeling that it would answer many of the questions (composition, texture, marking) I have about the direction I would like to go with my art.

Always luscious images and treasures! Thank you, Donna.
