Come Into the Quiet

New collages, acrylic on rice papers on wood supports.

"Come to my quietness. I shall cover you with it, like a white sheet that has blown all day in the sun, like a mountain lake filled with spring, it shall slip over you..." Diane di Prima

Come into the library.

Sit at the desk.

Look at the birdcage collection.

Look at the shells and fossils.

See more shelves of books.

Sit on the comfy sofa with the Alex Powers painting hanging above.

Sit on the window box and look at the zen gardens.

Sit in the chair next to Suki the cat.

Choose a good book.

Have a cup of green tea and some treats from Kyoto.

Touch the new ammonite collection

Art is a language, instrument of knowledge, instrument of communication. --- Jean Dubuffet

I loved to come sit in the library thank you! Having just come home from work, I would love to sit and have tea, quiet and beauty on which to feast my eyes.
I'll enjoy looking closely at your new collage as well.
Heaven! Thank you Donna.

It's easy to tell that you have a special relationship with objects around you. You collect them, place them in the right places, allow them to create an atmosphere within which you can think, create, wonder.

Makes me relax just to see...

aaaaaaaaw.
art IS language.
and a comfort to me
.to each.
.to you.
part of the breath
in the moment,
and memories
carried within.

alone, it becomes an embrace.
with others it tells our stories.

your quiet voice is heard.

Thank you very much for this walk through your wonderful rooms full of Beauty and...yes!..awareness.
I'm missing one book on your stack:
The "book of silence" which I discovered in one of your last posts. I love it from the first page! It's a remedy!

I love libraries and especially enjoyed the lovely virtual visit in yours. All the objects are so well placed and (obviously) well loved.
Good to see di Prima quote and find both the collages, but especially the second richly inspiring.

Hi Donna,

What a beautiful space; so serene. I love the new collages too. The one on at the top fits right in to the poem by Diane di Prima with its slight suggestion of landscape.

Beautiful room! I have a room that I would like to make into a library/office. Right now it is full of furniture and building supplies as I am still remodeling. This is inspiration for me to get the work done so I could have a peaceful place to read a book and sip some green tea. I also love your new pieces.
